THE MANY BENEFITS OF CBD

ADHD / ADD

Both adults and children seek out our CBD dispensary in Phoenix to better deal with the symptoms of ADD and ADHD. Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorders are extremely common, affecting between 6% and 11% of U.S. children in America. The most common medical treatments for anxiety in the U.S. are the use of pharmaceutical drugs, like stimulants (amphetamines), anti hypertensive drugs, and cognition enhancing medications. For many,  these pharmaceutical drugs often have severe side effects and are not your only option for balancing chemistry in the brain. In addition to self-care and therapy, you can incorporate CBD into your protocol for natural, plant-based ADD/ADHD relief.

AGING

It turns out CBD oil also has antioxidant properties which contribute to the research indicating CBD oil can help lessen the visible signs of aging skin. By reducing inflammation and counteracting free-radical damage, CBD anti-aging creams may be able to help visibly diminish issues like wrinkles, skin dullness, and ruddy skin tone.

CROHN'S DISEASE / COLITIS

Pharmaceutical medications can help in treating the symptoms of Crohn’s disease, but side effects are fairly common. As research into Hemp-Derived CBD intensifies, scientists are discovering how natural plant based cannabinoids help with many gastro intestinal conditions like Crohn’s disease.

CBD is a cannabinoid that occurs naturally in the Cannabis / Hemp plant. Our body has millions of receptors which can be found in the intestines, brain, colon, and central nervous system. These receptors are naturally influenced by CBD, which binds itself to these receptors and have modulatory effects. When this happens, the molecule gives the receptors the ability to make balancing adjustments to relieve inflammation which in turn reduces pain. We know from empirical data that the better you eat, (the more plant based foods), the better CBD works.

HASHIMOTOS DISEASE

The promising findings regarding CBD and thyroid disorders have to do with what scientists have so far learned about cannabinoids and how they influence the body’s endocannabinoid system, a communication network vital to our overall well-being and health.  The (ECS) or EndoCannabinoid System is responsible for regulating balance in many of our processes, including thyroid function.

Evidence with many studies suggests that CBD and other cannabinoids can be beneficial for managing the symptoms commonly associated with thyroid disorders, such as pain, depression, dry skin, inflammation, and anxiety. Stop in to our CBD dispensary in Phoenix to learn more!

WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS

Drugs have been with us since the beginning, for better or worse. The challenge for any user is to achieve its mood and health benefits while being able to regulate its use, but many struggle.

Opioid addiction is nasty. It may start innocently with the use of prescription opioids for post-operative pain. They’ll deliver pain relief with a euphoric high by flooding the brain with opioid chemicals that overwhelm receptors. The brain’s natural response is to restore balance by weakening the effect that these chemicals have on the brain. Over time, to achieve pain relief and restore that euphoric high, more pills must be popped, more morphine dripped. Eventually, the drugs themselves are insufficient and harder drugs like heroin are sought.

This proposes that there are three primary strategies in which therapeutic drugs, such as CBD, can help treat addiction. First, they can reduce the rewarding nature of the abused drug itself so that there’s less motivation for further consumption. Secondly, treatments can weaken withdrawal symptoms, like anxiety, which reduces drug seeking merely to alleviate symptoms. Lastly, treatments can reduce the ability of environmental cues to trigger relapse.

CBD’s power to regulate opioid reward stems from its ability to enhance serotonin signaling in the brain. Serotonin is a mood-regulating brain chemical that is a common target of anxiety and anti-depressant medications. It’s not surprising that the compound also relieves anxiety. CBD’s anxiety-relieving effects can be utilized in addiction treatment by relieving this prominent withdrawal symptom.  If you or a loved one suffers from opioid addiction, stop in to our CBD dispensary in Phoenix, or any of our other locations, and we’d be happy to discuss possible solutions with you.

ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

Initial research  published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease found that CBD was able to prevent the development of social recognition deficit in participants. This means that CBD could help people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s to keep the ability to recognize the faces of people that they know. This is the first evidence that CBD may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.

PANIC ATTACKS

review from Neurotherapeutics found that CBD may help to reduce anxiety in people with certain related disorders.

According to the review, CBD influences specific receptors in the brain to balance brain chemistry and bring on a more GABA tone to help reduce anxiety-related behaviors in people with conditions such as:

  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • general anxiety disorder
  • panic attacks
  • social anxiety disorder
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder

GLAUCOMA

CBD has been prescribed as a therapeutic aid for glaucoma for patients that don’t want to experience the high feeling that results from smoking marijuana. CBD is also being used to develop additional medications for glaucoma, and, the derivatives are showing promising results.

Since CBD can easily be bought online or at our CBD dispensary in Phoenix without visiting an ophthalmologist many glaucoma patients have always used it to relieve the condition.

Patients of open-angle glaucoma use CBD to relieve the condition. A study established that CBD reduced blood pressure while triggering an increase in their heart rate. Consequently, intraocular pressure decreased in the eyes of the patients. Interestingly, CBD effects lasted longer in patients with hypertension. Basically, high intraocular pressure damages the ocular nerve. In most cases, there are no noticeable symptoms before the patient loses sight.

MIGRAINES

Migraine attacks normally involve a severe, recurrent throbbing pain on one or both sides of the head, which can last anywhere between 4 and 72 hours.

These attacks may be accompanied by other disabling symptoms, including dizziness, nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity, and tingling or numbness of the face or extremities.

Cluster headache is defined as the onset of brief but very painful headaches that can strike several times per day. Pain normally occurs on one side of the head, usually in or around one eye.

Researchers found that when adults were given the CBD at a dose of 200 milligrams or greater, their acute migraine pain fell by 55 percent.  We NEVER suggest starting with this high dose, but slowly build up to it.

Based on their results, the researchers conclude that cannabinoids are just as effective as existing medications for preventing migraine attacks. If you’d like more information on CBD benefits, stop in to our CBD dispensary in Phoenix, or any of our other locations, and we’d be happy to discuss them with you.

STRESS and ANXIETY

review from Neurotherapeutics found that CBD may help to reduce anxiety in people with certain anxiety-related disorders.

According to the review, CBD helps to reduce anxiety-related behaviors in people with conditions such as:

  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • general anxiety disorder
  • panic attacks
  • social anxiety disorder
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • It does this BIOLOGICALLY by influencing the 5-HT1A Hydroxytryptamine Serotonin receptor which brings about a natural Anti-Anxiety effect.
CHRONIC PAIN

Cannabinoids, such as CBD, attach themselves to specialized receptors in a person’s brain and immune system.

One of these receptors, called a CB2 receptor, plays a role in the immune system by managing pain and inflammation.

Researchers believe that when CBD enters a person’s body, it may attach to CB2 receptors. Alternatively, it may cause the body to produce natural cannabinoids that attach to the CB2 receptors.

Either way, scientists think CBD affects the way that these receptors respond to the signals that they receive, possibly helping reduce inflammation and pain.

2008 review of research into CBD and its possible mechanism of action suggested that CBD could play a role in chronic pain management.

CANCER

Recent studies have shown that using CBD slows the growth, or even kills certain kinds of cancer cells that researchers had growing in a science lab. Studies suggest that certain properties of CBD could slow the growth of cancer cells and keep it from spreading quickly.

The National Cancer Institute states that cannabinoids such as CBD are useful in treating the side effects of cancer, and can ease the pain of some common cancer treatments like chemotherapy. They also state that the effects of CBD could include anti-inflammatory activity, blocking cell growth, preventing the growth of blood vessels that supply tumors, and aiding in antiviral activity.

Cancer patients can take CBD oil in a variety of ways in order to feel the benefits of CBD. Most commonly ingested orally in the form of a paste or drop, the CBD oil should be held under the tongue first so that it’s properly absorbed in the mouth before it’s swallowed. If this step is skipped, some of the CBD will get broken down by the digestive system, reducing its effectiveness.

Some people prefer using a CBD vaporizer or inhaler because it delivers the CBD into the system very effectively. Other ways to take CBD oil include capsules, mouth strips, and edibles like gummies or chocolates. If it’s hard for the patient to ingest the CBD oil, another option is to apply it topically using a lotion, cream, balm, or patch. It all depends on what the patient can handle, and the way in which the CBD treatment is most effective for them.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS (MS)

Using CBD to treat symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis can improve the quality of life of most people. Many studies have shown the anti-inflammatory benefits help to reduce inflammation in the neurological field ( Brain) to reduce symptoms with motor gateway processes.

When clinical medicine doesn’t help, many clients have tried CBD with good results. With regular use, the triggers that bring on spasms may be reduced with the antispasmodic effects of CBD. MS patients that suffer from depression can alleviate the problem with CBD oil because of its anti-anxiety effects as well.

HEART DISEASE

Due to the importance of the cardiovascular system, it’s quite obvious that any malfunctioning or illnesses involving this system could have catastrophic consequences. It just so happens that diseases of the cardiovascular system are among the leading causes of death worldwide. Conditions within this category include chronic rheumatic heart diseases, hypertension, coronary heart disease, stroke, and diseases of the arteries, arterioles, and capillaries.

A solution to preventing and possibly treating cardiovascular diseases may lie within the cannabis plant. Research is proving CBD to be an effective therapeutic agent for a whole host of health conditions, including cardiovascular diseases. Evidence suggests that CBD is beneficial to the cardiovascular system, with many studies pointing towards the cannabinoid’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidative effects as the key to its therapeutic action.

EPILEPSY

In June 2018, the FDA approved the use of the first CBD derived drug to treat two types of epilepsy. This is a step in the right direction, but unfortunately the drug made and Patented by GW Pharma has been altered to be able to be “patented” and the cost is on average $30,000 per year.

While the number has not been tracked, many people have chosen to seek out 100% Natural Hemp Extracts for their seizure disorders with amazing results. There are many thousands of testimonials on Facebook from people who have supplemented CBD for Epilepsy with positive results.

CHRONIC INFLAMMATION

SKIN CONDITIONS

Another significant benefit of CBD oil is that it has been found to soothe sensitive skin, and studies indicate that it may even be able to help inhibit certain triggers of disorders like psoriasis and improve eczema-prone skin. Again, far more research is needed, but what exists certainly looks promising, and researchers speculate it all comes down to CBD’s substantial skin-calming and skin-normalizing effects.

PARKINSON'S DISEASE

The idea of CBD for treating or managing Parkinson’s disease is still new to many people. However, the latest evidence shows that CBD can actually treat some of the symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease, like sleep disturbances, psychosis, and impaired movement.

The Endocannabinoid system in our bodies fights against our outer body state by maintaining an inner balance thus regulating our mood, appetite, temperature etc. The main cannabinoid receptors located throughout the body are called CB1 and CB2. CBD oil, when bonded to these receptors, helps the brain in producing more dopamine which is known to inhibit the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

DEPRESSION

CBD has been found to be effective in the treatment of depression. The cannabinoids produced in our bodies (endocannabinoids) help to regulate several functions of the body such as mood, pain sensation, sleep, and appetite.

SLEEP DISORDERS

CBD has the ability to reduce anxiety, through modulation of the Serotonin receptor and augmentation of Anandamide and Glutamate in the brain.

Few people know that EMF stress also disrupts sleep due to its ability to stimulate our brain, so as a result we recommend people keep their wireless modem as far away from the bedroom as possible.  For best results put the modem on a timer so it turns off at night.

Furthermore, for those who take Melatonin for sleep, understand that this is a hormone and it will stop your bodies natural secretion of Melatonin.  You will then have to take more over time just like Insulin for diabetics.

SLEEP CYCLES are just that, a “cycle”.  Try to limit your exposure to stimulants like caffeine, nicotine and stimulating videos or movies close to bedtime.

ACNE

Acne treatment is another promising use for CBD. The condition is caused, in part, by inflammation and overworked sebaceous glands in the body.

A 2014 study published by the Journal of Clinical Investigation found that CBD helps to lower the production of sebum that leads to acne, partly because of its anti-inflammatory effect on the body. Sebum is an oily substance, and overproduction can cause acne.

CBD could become a future treatment for acne vulgaris, the most common form of acne.  Visit our CBD Dispensary in Phoenix to learn more!

OSTEOPOROSIS

CBD products have 2 distinct benefits in osteoporosis treatments. Firstly, it would negatively modulate CB2 and CB1 receptors, thus reducing their capability of binding to agonists, a compound which activates them. This is often called the entourage effect, meaning that CBD helps to reduce the effects of other compounds that serve as the same cannabinoid receptors.

What’s more, CBD can inhibit several enzymes such as FAAH and increase the effects that they would exert on these cannabinoid receptors. As a result of these effects, researchers have suggested that CBD is effective and helpful in lowering the risks of osteoporosis and enhancing the health of your endocannabinoid system within the bones.

NAUSEA / VOMITING

CBD (cannabidiol) works differently than the THC that dominates most cannabis strains. It does not bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors as THC does. Rather, CBD supports runs interference on the mechanics that launch nausea and vomiting.

  • CBD triggers 5-hydroxytryptamine-1A (5-HT1A) that reduces the sensation of nausea.
  • CBD influences and modulates the flow of serotonin to reduce further stimulation of the vomiting center in the brain.
  • CBD supports anandamide, a natural enzyme, a neurotransmitter, and endocannabinoid. Anandamide produces a heightened state of happiness, so they call it “the bliss molecule.”
DIABETES

Type 1 diabetes results from inflammation that occurs when the immune system attacks cells in the pancreas and causes imbalance in chemistry

Research published in 2016 by Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation found that CBD may ease this inflammation in the pancreas. This may be the first step in finding a CBD-based treatment for millions of people with type 1 diabetes.

A paper presented in the same year in Lisbon, Portugal, suggested that CBD may reduce inflammation and protect against or delay the development of type 1 diabetes.

We have received dozens of testimonials from people who monitor their blood sugar levels daily and they have informed us that their blood sugar levels have come down with Industrial Hemp-derived CBD. Stop in to our CBD Dispensary in Phoenix to learn more!

SCHIZOPHRENIA

New research paves the way for a new schizophrenia treatment, by testing the effect of CBD. The study suggests that the cannabis-derived substance may improve schizophrenia-specific cognitive impairment, with none of the side effects that current medication has.

While currently available medication effectively treats positive symptoms – such as hallucinations and delusions – it is less effective in treating cognitive symptoms and negative symptoms, such as reduced speaking, reduced social interaction, and blunted feelings.

Furthermore, anti-psychotics can cause a wide range of side effects, including muscle spasms, restlessness, tremors, as well as drowsiness, or dizziness. Some less commonly prescribed medication can lead to weight gain, metabolic changes, an increased risk of diabetes, and high cholesterol.

This is why new research looks at the potential of cannabidiol (CBD) for treating the more challenging symptoms of schizophrenia

PTSD

review from Neurotherapeutics found that CBD may help to reduce anxiety in people with certain related disorders.
According to the review, CBD may reduce anxiety-related behaviors in people with conditions such as:

  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • general anxiety disorder
  • panic attacks
  • social anxiety disorder
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder

Many Cannabinoids including CBD, CBG, CBN have very balancing effects to our brain chemistry bringing on a more GABA tone to help reduce Cortisol and increase Anandamide which is the reason why people feel less stressed with the right dose of CBD in their bloodstream.

ARTHRITIS

People stop in on a daily basis to our CBD dispensary in Phoenix, and our other locations due to chronic pain from arthritis.  Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United States, affecting over 50 million Americans. The two most common types of arthritis are:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis (RA): An autoimmune disease in which a person’s immune system attacks their joints, causing inflammation. RA commonly affects the hands and feet and leads to painful, swollen, and stiff joints.
  • Osteoarthritis (OA): A degenerative disease that affects joint cartilage and bones, causing pain and stiffness. It often affects the hip, knee, and thumb joints.

Numerous studies suggest that CBD could help to treat arthritis and relieve the associated inflammatory pain.

HUNTINGTON'S DISEASE

Treatments are limited to those that reduce painful symptoms and improve a patient’s quality of life as the disease progresses. Powerful medications are commonly prescribed to manage tremors, seizures and psychiatric disorders. Dosages are increased over time until these drugs become ineffective, and the side effects outweigh their benefits.

Evidence supports the theory that CBD is effective in managing some of the symptoms Huntington’s Disease presents. For one thing, CBD has been shown to reduce inflammation throughout the body.  It also reduces pain and cramping. It has also been shown to control tremors and seizures. Finally, CBD is known to improve a persons mood and can treat the depression and anxiety associated with Huntington’s chorea.

NICOTINE ADDICTION

CBD protects against amphetamines’ ability to induce long-term changes in dopamine signaling.  This is the brain chemical involved in reward processing that underlies early stages of addiction. Cigarette smokers who had access to a CBD inhaler consumed 40 percent fewer cigarettes than those with a placebo.  Visit our CBD Dispensary in Phoenix to learn more!
